Women's Squash Opens New England Trip With 9-0 Win Over Stanford
January 31, 2015 | Women's Squash
Princeton won 27 of 28 individual games en route to its sixth win of the season. It was the first Tiger match held outside of the Jadwin Squash Courts, but Princeton handled the new environment in impressive fashion.
Playing in a two-shift format, the Tigers raced out to a 4-0 lead with wins from Maria Elena Ubina, Rachel Leizman, Tara Harrington and Alexandra Toth. For Ubina, it continues a great week; on Wednesday, she knocked off 2014 CSA semifinalist Anaka Alankamony.
Princeton took care of business quickly in the second shift, which included wins from a pair of seniors (Nicole Bunyan and Hallie Dewey) and a pair of freshmen (Olivia Fiechter and Kira Keating). Junior Isabella Bersani added a win at the No. 9 spot to help complete the sweep.
The Tigers can now turn their full focus to Ivy League play, as their four final matches of the regular season will all be against Ancient Eight opponents. That stretch starts Saturday at noon against Providence.
