Asom Earns Third Straight Ivy Weekly Women's Soccer Honor
October 05, 2015 | Women's Soccer
For the third straight week, Princeton freshman Mimi Asom is the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for women's soccer.
It's the first time in Ivy League history that the same player has won the women's soccer Rookie of the Week honor three weeks in a row.
This week, Asom earns the honor for her first two-goal game as a Tiger, getting both regulation-time goals in Princeton's 3-2 win at Dartmouth Saturday. She's the first Tiger in two years to earn three Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors, a feat Tyler Lussi accomplished in 2013.
Asom was also selected to TopDrawerSoccer.com's national Team of the Week for the second time this year after also appearing on the Sept. 22 team.
Asom now has six goals on the season, two off Lussi's team high. The Tigers, who won at Dartmouth for the first time since 2007, are 2-0 in the Ivy League, winners of five straight and stand 7-3 overall before hosting Army West Point Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Roberts Stadium.
