Women's Cross Country Earns Bid to NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (11/14/15) - The Princeton women's cross country team will race for the NCAA title as the Tigers were selected to the NCAA Championships this afternoon.
Princeton is one of 13 at-large teams to earn spot, joining 18 automatic qualifiers.
This is the 11th team appearance for the Tigers in the NCAA Championships and first since 2013. Princeton's best finish was back-to-back fifth-place finishes in 2008 and 2009. Thirteen All-America honors have been bestowed upon Tigers at the championships, with junior Lizzie Bird and seniors Emily de La Bruyere and Kathryn Fluehr looking to claim the prestigous honors next weekend as the Tigers' consistent top-three runners this season.
Princeton was third at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional that it hosted yesterday afternoon. Two runners, de La Bruyere and Bird finished in the top three. The Tigers are the Ivy League Heptagonal champions with three runners in the top 10.
The University of Louisville will host the championships, Saturday, Nov. 21, at Tom Sawyer State Park located in Louisville, Kentucky. The women's race will begin at 12 p.m.
