Henry Caruso had a career-high 27 points on 10-of-11 shooting as Princeton stormed past Fairleigh Dickinson 91-61 Monday night in Jadwin Gym, improving to 4-0 for the first time since the 1997-98 season.
FDU got out to an early 12-5 lead four minutes in, but the Tigers responded with a 10-2 run to close that deficit and pull away from a 22-22 tie with a 26-11 run to end the half. Princeton took a 48-33 lead into the break.
The second half was more of the same, with Princeton outshooting FDU 51.9 percent to 23.3 percent after the break in pushing the lead to a high of 33 with four minutes to go in the game.
The Tigers dominated the glass 49-30, outrebounding their opponent for the fourth time in as many games this season. Princeton outrebounded Lafayette and FDU 100-56 over the last two games.
Caruso led four Tigers with double-figure points in getting his second straight double-double, tying a career best with 10 boards. Steven Cook had 17 points while Amir Bell had a season-high 13 and Devin Cannady added 10. Spencer Weisz had seven assists without a turnover, boosting his assist-to-turnover ratio to 19 to 2 on the season.
Princeton will head out on a three-game road swing to Stony Brook Saturday, Saint Joseph's Dec. 8 and Lipscomb Dec. 12 before returning to face Liberty Thursday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. Fans who bring two non-perishable items will receive free admission to the Liberty game.
