PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's track & field team will head to State College, Pa. this weekend to compete in the Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup hosted by Penn State University.
The Nittany Lions will welcome 12 other teams for the two-day meet, which include: Appalachian State, Binghamton, Buffalo, Cornell, James Madison, Liberty, Penn, Princeton, South Florida, UConn, UMBC and William & Mary.
Friday's men's field events will start at 5 p.m. with the long jump. The 60-meter hurdles kick off the men's running events at 6:15 p.m. The pole vault and shot put will be the first men's field events on Saturday (11 a.m.), with the mile run opening the men's running events on day two (12 p.m.). Live stats will be provided courtesy of Penn State free of charge.
LAST TIME OUT
Three runners finished in the top-10 of the mile run at last week's Armory Invitational, led by William Bertrand, who placed fourth with a time of 4:06.23. Kenan Farmer came in seventh with a time of 4:12.00, while Zach Albright was ninth with a time of 4:13.18.
Matt McDonald was third in the 3,000m run with a personal record time of 8:06.67. Sam Berger was sixth (8:08.68). Nana Owusu-Nyantekyi was eighth in the triple jump thanks to a leap of 15.07m (49-5.5) on his first attempt, while Princeton's distance medley relay team of Luke Brahm, Ray Mennin, Noah Kauppila and Bradley Paternostro turned in the Tigers' fastest time of the year at 9:41.58.
