Nicolao Records 400th Win As Princeton Cruises Past Concordia, Whittier

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – With a pair of wins over Concordia and Whittier, the 10th-ranked women's water polo team wrapped up play at the Loyola Marymount Invitational.
Securing a 16-5 decision over Concordia, Princeton cruised to a 13-6 triumph over Whittier during the afternoon session. With today's victories, head coach Luis Nicolao recorded his 400th career victory. Posting a 400-132 overall record, Nicolao has helped guide the Tigers to three CWPA Championships, while registering a 0.752 winning percentage.
NO. 10 PRINCETON 16, CONCORDIA 5
The Princeton women's water polo team improved to 20-2 on the season with a decisive 16-5 victory over Concordia.
Racing out to a 7-1 margin after the first quarter, the Tigers took a five-goal lead into the intermission. Staying aggressive, Princeton held a 5-1 scoring edge in the third before accounting for three of the four scores in the final frame.
Chelsea Johnson netted four goals, while Morgan Hallock had three goals, four drawn ejections, two steals and an assist. Jessie Holechek had two goals and a helper, while Hatcher picked up two goals and two steals. Hannah Lapkin, Pippa Temple, Kimi Klein, Sydney Saxe and Kelly Gross also got on the board.
Getting the start, Helena van Brande finished with nine saves. Making five stops in the first half, van Brande had three more in the third before tacking on an additional save in the final eight minutes.

Leading 7-1 at the intermission, Princeton held a 6-5 scoring edge in the final 16 minutes to hold onto a seven-goal margin of victory.
Pippa Temple had four goals and an assist, while Haley Wan and Jessie Holechek each had a pair of scores. Ashley Hatcher had a goal and three helpers, while Hannah Lapkin, Kimi Klein, Kelly Gross and Emily Smith each had a goal.
Ashleigh Johnson stopped five of the six shots she faced while playing the first half. Playing the second half, Helena van Brande collected a pair of saves.
