Women's Track Wins Quad Meet with Eight Events

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/11/15) - Princeton won eight events and scored 90 points to win the Quad Meet on Saturday, April 11 at Weaver Stadium.
The Tigers earned victories in the 200, 1500, 4x100, 4x400, high jump, triple jump, shot put and hammer throw.
Following Princeton's 90 points was Monmouth with 79.50 points, followed by Vermont with 26.50. Rutgers did not compete on the women's side.
Princeton went 1-2-3 in the 200 with a win by seior Joanna Anyanwu, She clocked 25.26, followed by junior Sara Ronde's PR of 25.43 and freshman Christina Walter at 25.67 Anwyanwu and Walter finished second and third in the 100, at 12.39 and 12.42, respectively. The trio was joined by senior Emily Easton in the 4x100 and posted a 48.11 for the win. Ronde's day wasn't done yet as she took second in the long jump, with a leap of 5.61 on her first attempt.
Another 1-2-3 finish came in the 1500. Sophomore Lizzie Bird crossed the line nearly seven seconds ahead of the rest of the competition, at 4:25.82. Sophomores Zoe Sims and Ally Markovich followed at 4:32.26 and 4:35.52.
Sophomore Elisa Steele was the runner-up in the 400, running a PR of 56.76, while freshman Mattie Baron was fourth with a PR of 59.26 as the pair grabbed four points in the event.
In the 3k, freshman Melissa Reed clocked 10:09.86 to take second.
Sophomore Allison Harris and junior Taylor Morgan placed second and third in the 100 hurdles. Harris clocked 14.71 and Morgan 14.92. In the 400 hurdles, junior Meghan McMullin took second place at 1:04.16.
Steele, McMullin and seniors Emily Broyles and Kim Mackay completed the final event of the day, the 4x400, in a winning time of 3:51.15.
The Tigers grabbed 8.5 points in the high jump, with Morgan taking the win as she cleared 1.62 on her first attempt. Juniors Inka Busack tied for second and Kerry Krause was fourth as they each cleared 1.60.
Sophomore Alexandra Lanzafame was an individual winner in the triple jump, leaping to 11.41 on her fourth attempt.
The duo of Brielle Rowe and Kennedy O'Dell were responsible for 13 of their team's points, as each scored in the shot, discus and hammer. O'Dell won the shot with a throw of 12.87, was fourth in the discus at 37.56 and hammer at 49.33. Rowe was third in all three throwing events - 11.72 shot, 43.87 discus, 49.93 hammer. It was teammate Julia Ratcliffe that won the hammer throw, launching to 65.71 on her final attempt. She threw over 63 meters on all of her countable throws.
Other scorers include: Kim Mackay third in the 800, Brittany Henderson fourth in the pole vault, Sydney Hausman fourth in the triple, Sarah Waszkewitz third in the javelin.
