Women's Track & Field Claims Four Wins on Final Day of Larry Ellis

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/18/15) - The Princeton women's track & field team closed out the Larry Ellis Invitational winning four events on the final day at Weaver Stadium.
Sophomore Katie Hanss won the 1500, beating out 30 other competitors. Hanss won the fast section at 4:35.78, more than two seconds ahead of the field. Freshman Delany Miller won the second section at 4:42.54 to place seventh overall.
Senior Jasmine Blocker was fifth overall in the 400 at 54.79 to win the second section of the event.
Senior Joanna Anyanwu was ninth in the 100 clocking 12.23 to win section 3. She also had the best time for the Tigers in the 200 at 24.77.
Junior Cecilia Barowksi and senior Kim Mackay went 1-2 in the 800. Barowski claimed the victory in 2:08.41 while Mackay clocked 2:11.60 as the runner-up. Sophomore Zoe Sims was fourth at 2:12.70, while junior Summer Hanson was eighth at 2:17.07 and senior Rhodes Scholar Rachel Skokowski was ninth at 2:17.27.
Leading the way in the 400 hurdles was junior Meghan McMullin, placing seventh at 1:04.31.
Princeton won both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.
Blocker, Anyanwu, junior Sara Ronde and freshman Christina Walter won the 4x100 relay at 47.17, while Blocker, Mackay, McMullin and sophomore Elisa Steele posted a 3:46.61 to win the 4x400.
Moving into the field events, junior Brielle Rowe was second in the discus throwing to 45.49 (149-03) on her first throw.
In the long jump, junior Sara Ronde was seventh launching to 5.60 (18-4.50) on her first attempt.
Freshman Kennedy O'Dell was third in the shot put at 13.43 (44-00.75) on her third throw of the afternoon. Junior Taylor Morgan had matching eight-place finishes in both the shot put and high jump. She threw 12.10 (39-8.50) in the shot and cleared 1.65 (5-5) in the high jump.
Recent alum and All-America Imani Oliver '14 won the triple jump. She jumped to 13.01 (42-8.25) for the win, while sophomore Alex Lanzafame leapt to 11.78 (38-7.75) on her first attempt to place seventh.
Princeton will compete at the Penn Relays this week, April 23-25.
