Cook Highlights Day 2 of NCAA Regionals for Men's Track & Field

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (5/29/15) - Five members of the Princeton men's track & field team competed on Day 2 of the NCAA East Regional, one day after senior Sam Pons qualified for the finals in the 10k and senior Bradley Paternostro advanced in the 1500.
Sophomore Chris Cook highlighted the day in the discus. He threw 52.97 (173-9) on his second attempt to finish 30th. Freshman Mitchel Charles was 39th in his first time at Regionals, with a throw of 51.36 (168-6).
Junior Adam Bragg no heighted in the pole vault, missing a clearance at the 5.15 meter mark, after passing on the first two heights.
On the track, junior Greg Caldwell clocked 14.51 in the 110-meter hurdles to finish 41st overall.
In the final event of the night, senior Connor Martin did not finish in the steeplechase.
The Tigers will send seven out to compete tomorrow on the final day of Regionals. First up will be Charles, Cook and senior Scott Rushton in the shot put at 5 p.m. Paternostro races in the quarterfinals of the 1500 at 6:45 p.m. Senior Nana Owusu-Nyantekyi and freshman Lane Russell take on the triple jump at 7 p.m., and senior Mike Mazzaccaro tackles the 5k distance race at 8:45 p.m.
