• Princeton's final two chances for competition before Ivy League play begins are this week, when La Salle on Wednesday and William & Mary on Sunday come to Roberts Stadium.
• Princeton will host its second NSCAA-ranked team of the season this weekend in No. 23 William & Mary. No. 22 Rutgers, on Sept. 3, was the last time Princeton faced a ranked opponent. The last time Princeton defeated an NSCAA-ranked team was Nov. 10, 2012 in the first round of the NCAA tournament when the Tigers upset No. 21 West Virginia 2-1. A 3-1 win over No. 15 Washington in the 2004 NCAA quarterfinals was the last time Princeton beat a ranked team in Princeton.
• Princeton snapped a three-game skid with a 3-1 win at Villanova Sunday. The last two defeats, to Duquesne and Delaware, came in games in which Princeton decidedly outshot its opponents but couldn't outscore them. The team aligned the shot total with the score in Sunday's win.
• Princeton's final week before Ivy play will be a challenge. La Salle, which has tied Princeton in each of the last two years, put together two wins last weekend to stand at 3-2-2 on the season. William & Mary, which doesn't have a game before it faces Princeton, has won three in a row to stand at 6-1-1 and didn't give up a goal in any of those wins over N.C. State, Old Dominion and Harvard.
• Princeton and La Salle have played annually since 2011 with the record squared at 1-1-2 over that span. La Salle came to Roberts Stadium and won 1-0 in 2011 before Princeton went down to Philadelphia and won 2-1 in overtime. The teams had a scoreless tie in Princeton in 2013 and a 2-2 tie in Philadelphia last year. Both goalkeepers and one goal scorer for each team from last year's game were seniors last year, while goal scorers Beth Stella for Princeton and Kristin Haugstad for La Salle return.
• Princeton hasn't been able to solve William & Mary of late. Six of the eight meetings in the all-time series came when William & Mary alumna Julie Shackford coached Princeton, and Princeton is winless in the last five. After a 2-1 OT win in 2001 for the Tigers, the Tribe won in 2002, 2006, 2011 and 2014 while tying in 2013. Caroline Casey has backstopped the Tribe in the last two meetings, while Gudrun Valdis Jonsdottir played in goal in last year's meeting, a 4-1 W&M win. Haley Chow had Princeton's goal last year, while W&M returns two of its goals in senior Samantha Cordum.
• There's a local angle on both visitors, with Pennington native Nicole Baxter a senior at W&M and Robbinsville native Kari Nickels a junior at La Salle.
• Both visiting coaches are longtime occupants of their post, with La Salle's Paul Royal in his 13th season and W&M's John Daly in his 29th. Princeton's Sean Driscoll, while in his first season at Princeton, was the head coach for four years at Manhattan College from 2005-09.
• Princeton has already faced two Atlantic 10 teams this year, winning 2-1 at Fordham and losing 3-2 to Duquesne. Princeton has also already faced one of W&M's CAA opponents, Delaware, which won 1-0 at Princeton last week.
• Junior Tyler Lussi notched her team-best third goal of the season Sunday at Villanova. She's got 31 for her career, fifth-most in Princeton history. Jen Hoy '13 is fourth at 36 goals.
• While nine Tigers have scored this season, five La Salle players have, led by three goals from Fia Jonsson. Nine Tribe players have scored, led by four apiece from Katie Johnston and Samantha Cordum, who scored twice against Princeton last year.
• La Salle has found more scoring of late. After scoring just one goal over its first three games, La Salle has scored seven times in the last four games. William & Mary has been scoring well all season long, only getting shut out once and putting in at least three goals in five of its eight games.
• Thirteen Tigers have started a game this season with seven players starting all six games. Only one of those seven - Emily Sura - is a senior, and Mimi Asom is the only freshman to start all six games.
• Junior goalkeeper Hannah Winner has started all six games and has played all but two halves of two games over Princeton's first six contests. Her 450 minutes are already her single-season best, topping her 218 minutes from last season.
