Bird Named GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week

Junior Lizzie Bird was named the Suburban Transit GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week for the week ending, September 13.
Bird won the HYP meet at Franklin Park as the Princeton women's cross country team opened the 2015 season. Bird clocked a 17:14, seven seconds ahead of the second-place finisher from Harvard. This is the first time Bird finished as the No. 1 runner for the Tigers. The Tigers were thisclose to winning the meet, finishing one point out of first with 37 points. Harvard earned 36 points. Princeton had a better average time 17:41.20 to 17:43, and had the lowest combined time of 1:28:26 to 1:28:35.
Bird closed out the 2014-15 academic year earning honorable mention All-America honors in the steeplechase.
