Deokar Leads Tigers to Win at Paul Short

Freshman Viraj Deokar led the Tigers to a first-place finish at the Paul Short Run on Saturday at Lehigh University.
The squad captured 68 points, the only team in single double digits out of 45 in the race. The Tigers were also one of just two teams to race with just five harriers, the other team finished last.
Deokar earns his first collegiate cross country race victory finishing the 8k course in 24:51. Junior Charlie Stahl followed four seconds back at 24:55 to take 10th, while senior Jack Leahey was 12th at 24:56. Freshman Gavin Gaynor and junior Wolfgang Beck finished 19th and 20th respectively at 25:07 and 25:09.
Siena was second with 195 points and Marist was third with 202.
Princeton will travel to the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday, Oct. 14 and host the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15.
