Volleyball Runs Set Streak To 25, Stays Perfect In Ivy Play With 3-0 Sweep At Dartmouth
October 28, 2016 | Women's Volleyball
Head coach Sabrina King has praised her team's offensive balance throughout the season, and it was on display once again Friday night in a 3-0 sweep at Dartmouth. Three players posted either 10 or 11 kills for the Princeton women's volleyball team, which ran its win streak to 13 with a 25-15, 25-21, 25-16 victory in Hanover.
The victory keeps Princeton two matches ahead of Yale, a 3-1 winner over Cornell, with five matches remaining in league play. The Tigers will return to action Saturday at 5 pm at Harvard; those two teams shared the 2015 Ivy League title, though Harvard advanced to the NCAA tournament after a 3-1 home win over Princeton in a playoff match.
Mattaliano, who earned Ivy League Player of the Year honors in 2015 after leading the Tigers to 10 wins in their final 11 matches, had 11 kills and a match-high 20 digs in the win over Dartmouth, while freshman Devon Peterkin added 11 kills and seven digs. Classmate Jessie Harris had 41 assists, nine digs and three kills, while senior middle Brittany Ptak added 10 kills and hit .364 for the league's most efficient offensive team.
Saturday's match at Harvard will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
