PRINCETON, N.J. (11/9/16) - As they have for the last eight years, Yale and Princeton will square off in the regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 4 p.m., at Reese Stadium.
Yale holds a three-game lead in the all-time series, since the teams first met back in 1913. Princeton has won the last four meetings, three of which have been by shutout. Since the teams have been playing the finale, Princeton holds a 6-1-1 record over Yale.
The Tigers are coming off of a 2-2 tie with Penn and are now 7-7-2 overall and 1-3-2 in the Ivy League. The Ivy League leading scorer, senior Greg Seifert has 11 goals and four assists for 26 points. Following him in the scoring column is sophomore Sean McSherry and freshman Benjamin Martin with eight points, as each has tallied three goals and two assists. Seniors Vikram Pothuri and Patrick Barba have seven points apiece. Senior Josh Haberman sports a 1.56 goals against average and a .681 save percentage. Freshman Jacob Schachner has played 184 minutes and has a .714 save percentage and a 0.98 GAA.
The Bulldogs are 3-10-2 overall and 1-4-1 in the Ivy League to sit in sixth place. Yale's only Ivy victory was a 3-0 score over Cornell, while it's other two wins were over Sacred Heart and St. Joseph's. Most recently, the Bulldogs lost 3-1 at Brown. Sophomore Nicky Downs and senior Henry Flugstad-Clarke leads the team with nine points apiece. Flugstad-Clarke has scored four goals, while freshman John Leisman has three. Downs has a team-high five assists to go along with his two tallies. Sophomore Kees Schipper is 3-9-2 in goal with a 1.75 GAA and a .590 save percentage. Backup, freshman Andrew Bortey has played a little more than 130 minutes and has a 1.37 GAA and a .600 save percentage.
