Putting together its third straight double-digit victory since its only loss at Yale two weekends ago, the Princeton men's basketball team cruised past Cornell 85-56 Friday night in Ithaca.
Despite the Tigers' convincing win, there was no change atop the Ivy, with Yale (7-0 Ivy), Columbia (6-1) and Princeton (5-1) all maintaining their positions heading into the Tigers' visit to Columbia Saturday night. The game will be video streamed on the Ivy League Digital Network and ESPN3.
Princeton made 9 of 11 from 3-point range to start the game, building a 25-point lead at 33-8 before Cornell stanched it there and the Tigers took a 52-29 lead into the break.
Princeton's lead grew as large as 33 points in the second half, and 14 Tigers saw time with none playing more than 25 minutes. Henry Caruso and Amir Bell co-led Princeton with 13 points while Devin Cannady's 11 points and Myles Stephens' 10, both off the bench for the rookies, also put them into double figures.
Princeton ended with a 50 percent to 36 percent advantage from the field and a 38-26 rebounding edge to help fuel the victory. Cornell's Matt Morgan led the home team with a game-high 15 points.
