Men's Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at USF

TAMPA, Fla. (3/17/16) - Freshman Adam Kelly and junior Xavier Bledsoe both finished as runners-up in their respective events as the Princeton men's track & field team began the 2016 outdoor season today.
The Tigers are competing in the two-day Bulls Invitational on the campus of South Florida during the teams annual spring break training trip to Florida.
Kelly was second as he competed in his first collegiate hammer throw. He had his best throw of 62.78 (206) on his fourth attempt, while four of his six throws were at least 61 meters. Sophomore Gabe Arcarco was fourth at 56.76 (186-3) on his third attempt and junior Vic Youn was sixth at 53.98 (177-1) - the best of his two countable throws.
Bledsoe, the Ivy League heptagonal indoor champion in the high jump was second in the event today. He cleared 2.09 (6-10.25) on his final attempt.
In the discus invitational sophomore Mitchel Charles led the Tigers with a throw of 51.66 (169-6) on his final attempt to take fourth place. Junior Jared Bell was two places back with a toss of 51.37 (168-6), while junior Christopher Cook was eighth at 49.08 (161).
The meet continues tomorrow at 9 a.m., with the javelin.
