Lori Dauphiny Named Ivy League Coach Of The Year; Nine Claim All-Ivy Honors
May 17, 2016 | Women's Rowing - Open
Princeton head coach Lori Dauphiny credited her rowers with a strong, courageous effort Sunday morning in a thrilling Ivy League championship final. Her peers, however, are making sure Dauphiny receives credit of her own.
Dauphiny, who won her seventh Ivy League title in the last two decades, was named the 2016 Ivy League Head Coach of the Year Tuesday following a vote by the league coaches. Dauphiny, who has guided the Tigers to four Ivy crowns in the last six years, is a former National Coach of the Year whose career record improved to 190-25 (.884) this season.
The nine women in the Tiger first varsity, which shocked top-ranked Brown on Lake Carnegie for the Ivy title, claimed first-team All-Ivy League honors. They included members of each class, including the senior trio of Erin Reelick, Brett Simpson and Meghan Wheeler. Reelick became only the second Princeton woman this century to win three Ivy League titles; her older sister Kelsey is the other.
