Lussi Named to MAC Hermann Watch List

Rising senior Tyler Lussi will begin her final season at Princeton on the watch list for the MAC Hermann Trophy, college soccer's top honor.
The 2015 NSCAA second-team All-America honoree and 2015 MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist helped Princeton get to the NCAA second round with a tournament-opening win over Boston College that followed an unbeaten Ivy League campaign. Lussi scored 15 goals last year, putting her four behind Esmeralda Negron '05 for the program's career record of 47, and her 35 points put Lussi just 14 back of Negron's 112 for the program record there.
Princeton is scheduled to face three players on the Watch List, including West Virginia senior defender Kadeisha Buchanan, who is on the Canadian Olympic team along with Princeton alum Diana Matheson '08, and Buchanan's Mountaineer teammate, senior midfielder Ashley Lawrence. Once the conference slate begins, the Lussi and the Tigers will line up against the Ivy's only other Watch List honoree, Harvard senior forward Margaret Purce.Â
Since Princeton's 2015 campaign ended, Lussi has spent time with the U.S. U-23 Women's National Team, playing in tournaments in Europe and training in Florida and California with the American squad.Â
Princeton's 2016 season is set to begin Aug. 26 against Fordham at Roberts Stadium.
