O'Brien Earns Ivy League Player of the Week and GPT/Suburban Transit Athlete of the Week Honors

After scoring three times on the week, Princeton sophomore Courtney O'Brien is the Ivy League Player of the Week for women's soccer for the second time this season.

O'Brien, who is second on the team with seven goals this season, is also the GoPrincetonTigers.com/Suburban Transit Athlete of the Week.

Princeton players have been named Ivy Player of the Week five times in seven chances this season, with O'Brien's two awards joining two for classmate Abby Givens and one for fellow sophomore, keeper Natalie Grossi.

O'Brien had the second of four goals at Bucknell in the Tigers 4-0 win last Tuesday, and Saturday at Brown, she scored goals 56 seconds apart to help Princeton rally past Brown 2-1 and stay perfect in the Ivy League at 3-0.

Princeton, ranked 11th in the nation last week, will learn its new ranking Tuesday when the latest United Soccer Coaches poll is released. The Tigers will take the field again Saturday at 7 p.m. against Columbia in a return from a three-game road swing.
