GAINESVILLE, FLA. - Head coach Courtney Banghart's squad makes the trip to the University of Florida to take part in the Gator Holiday Classic. The Tigers will take on the Saint Joseph's Hawks on Wednesday before a contest vs. the Chattanooga Mocs on Thursday. Both games tip-off at 2:30 p.m.
Before we move on to the Gator Holiday Classic, let's take one last review of the Wagner meeting ...
Rebounds: Princeton dominated on the boards against Wagner, earning a 44-25 advantage. Five different Tigers had at least four rebounds in the game, highlighted by Leslie Robinson's seven. The Tigers also snagged 19 offensive rebounds, leading to 14 second-chance points.
From Beyond The Arc: Yet again, Wagner struggled from deep, knocking down just one three-pointer. The Tigers have not allowed more than four treys in a game in eight of 10 contests this year.
Wagner's Defense: The Tigers' offense led the way in the second half, going 14-of-29 from the floor (48.3 percent). Wagner remained in striking distance before Tigers ripped off a 10-0 jump over a five-minute stretch that went from the third quarter into the fourth. The Tigers ballooned their advantage to 18 in that time, going ahead 46-28, with 8:16 remaining. During that span, Princeton caused Wagner to go 0-of-4 from the floor and turn the ball over three times. The Seahawks would not get within 16 the rest of the way.
And now on to the Gator Holiday Classic ...
Leslie Robinson: Over the last six games, the senior captain is averaging 11.8 points on 41.8 percent shooting, 7.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. In the four games to start the season, Robinson posted a state line of 7.8 points on 35.3 percent shooting along with 7.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 0.75 steals per game. After back-to-back two-point outings, the senior captain has at least 10 points in five of her last six contests.Â
Â
Sydney Jordan: Jordan has been one of the Tigers' best players over the week, averaging 10.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. The junior has been lights out shooting, going 10-of-13 (76.9 percent) in just 52 minutes. Prior to the Rutgers game, Jordan has scored at least 10 points just twice in her career before doing it back-to-back games. Her 11 points at Rutgers was a career best.
Â
St. Joe's Three-Point Shooting: The Hawks are 19th in the country in three-point shooting percentage at 39.7 percent, though it is misleading. St. Joe's made 15-of-20 (75.0 percent) in an impressive season opening victory over Niagara. Since then, the Hawks are 33-of-101 (32.6 percent), which would be 128th in the country.
Â
Chattanooga's Three-Point Shooting: The Mocs are also one of the best teams in Division I in making down threes as they sit at 41.2 percent, ninth highest. Chattanooga has made at least four treys in every game this season, hitting a season-best 11 in an overtime victory over U-T Martin. The reigning SoCon Champions have shot over 40 percent from deep in six of its contest this year.
