Tigers Gain Ground in National Rankings Against Top Teams at Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (3/31/17) - Four Tigers competed today at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, in a meet featuring some of the top teams in the nation.
Senior Katie Hanss ran 4:26.09 in the 1500, to finish in 13th place. It was a stacked race that featured two of the top four in the East, in Angel Piccirillo (Villanova) and Kimberly Johansen (Elon). Hanss' time is the fastest time run by a Tiger this season and would place her 14th in the East Region rankings.
Sophomore Anna Jurew clocked a PR in the 800 at 2:10.48. It too marks the fastest time run by a Tiger this season and ranks her 19th in the East Region rankings. Senior Zoe Sims posted a 2:12.57.
In the final event, senior Alexandra Markovich finished 10th overall the steeplechase with a time of 10:48.86. Her time ranks as the 11th best in the East Region.
Princeton will be back in action tomorrow as Allison Harris tackles the pole vault at the Texas Longhorns Invitational, while the rest of the team competes at the Mark Young Invitational at Yale on Sunday.
