Winners of four in a row, the Princeton men's tennis team will play their final matches before heading to California for spring break when the Tigers host NJIT and William & Mary in a Saturday doubleheader at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in Jadwin Gym. Admission is free.
Princeton (8-6) won its last match at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic two weekends ago and then swept a three-match weekend to begin the current five-match homestand.
The doubles pair of senior Alex Day and junior Luke Gamble are ranked 24th in the nation this week, while Kial Kaiser, who has played everywhere between second and sixth singles during the dual season, has a team-best eight dual-match wins this spring.
Princeton first played NJIT in 2011 before renewing the series last year, both Princeton wins in Jadwin Gym. NJIT stands at 4-4 on the season with the visit to Jadwin coming less than two weeks before Atlantic Sun conference play comes with a visit from Lipscomb on March 23. Princeton will be NJIT's second Ivy opponent of the season along with a 6-1 loss at Harvard on Jan. 22.
William & Mary (6-6) opened the dual-match season with a trip into Ivy League territory to face Yale and Brown, splitting the matches with a 5-2 loss to the Bulldogs and a 4-3 win over the Bears. This weekend is another Ivy double for the Tribe, who will head to Penn Sunday.
After Saturday's doubleheader, Princeton will play three matches in Southern California March 21-26 at Pepperdine, San Diego and UC Santa Barbara before Ivy League play begins April 7 with a visit to Cornell.
