Hurdlers Clock Top-10 Times at Texas Invitational, as Tigers Take 10th

AUSTIN, Texas (4/15/17) – Princeton earned 15 points to finish 10th at the Texas Invitational, a meet that featured No. 3 Kentucky, No. 9 Texas and No. 25 Auburn.
Three Tigers had personal bests in the 100m hurdles and all three were top-10 times in school history. Sophomore Ellie Randolph raced out to a 13.96, the third-fastest time in school history. Senior Allison Harris posted a 14.14 to move up to sixth place on the all-time list, while junior Maia Craver cracked the list at eighth with a 14.27.
Senior Elisa Steele ran a personal best 55.00 in the 400, the fifth best time in program history and earned two points towards the team total with a seventh place finish. Freshmen Ashley Willingham and Heide Baron also clocked their best times as collegians at 56.08 and 56.64.
Freshman Devon Block-Funkhouser was fourth in the 400 hurdles. She clocked 1:02.88 in her lap around the oval to claim five points in the event.
The 4x400 taking sixth place was the final event on the track. Craver, Baron, Willingham and Steele recorded a time of 3:48.93.
Senior Allison Harris cleared 3.93 (12-10.75) to earn her team two points in the pole vault. She is the Princeton record holder in the event, with a 4.15 (13-7.25) from the 2016 Larry Ellis Invitational.
Junior Kennedy O'Dell was 11th in the discus with a throw of 43.90 (144) and was 13th in the shot put at 13.01 (42-8.25).
Princeton hosts the Larry Ellis Invitational next weekend, April 21-22, at Weaver Stadium.
