Princeton's three-game lead in the Ivy South is over Columbia, while the Tigers lead by five over Penn and seven over Cornell. Princeton would clinch the division with a sweep or by winning at least three of the four games against Columbia and seeing Cornell take at least one game from Penn this weekend in Ithaca.
Ensuring the Ivy League Championship Series will be at '95 Field will require more. The Tigers hold just a one-game edge on Ivy North-leading Dartmouth, and the tiebreaker would go to the Big Green as Dartmouth swept its doubleheader with Princeton earlier this month. Dartmouth is also up three games in its division over second-place Harvard and will visit third-place Yale for four this weekend.
Since divisional play began in the Ivy in 2007, Princeton has won or split nine of the 10 series with the Lions, taking at least three of the four games in seven of those series with sweeps in 2008, 2009 and 2015. The Tigers took three of four from the Lions last year in New York.
Winners of four in a row, Columbia (18-20, 7-5 Ivy) swept last Sunday's doubleheader visit from Cornell as well as Wednesday's trip to Rider. Junior Madison Gott (.410) leads a team hitting .285 while freshman Madison Canby (11-8, 4.07 ERA) has thrown 122 of the team's 245 innings. Canby started both first games against Cornell last weekend while fellow rookie Erin Gallo (4-5, 4.33) started both second games.
The Tigers (18-15, 10-2) entered the week ranking fifth in the nation in fielding percentage, now at .980, and 21st in doubles per game, now at 1.52. Sophomore Riley Wilkinson was tied for fourth in the nation with her four saves. Senior Marissa Reynolds ranked 10th nationally in on-base percentage, 11th in slugging percentage, 13th in batting average and 24th in doubles per game. Reynolds now has a .561 OBP, slugs .835, hits .456 and has 0.35 doubles per game. Seniors Claire Klausner (8-5, 3.93) and Erica Nori (7-1, 3.00) have started Princeton's 12 Ivy League games.
