Kelly is Runner-up at Penn Relays; Volker and Bell Win at TCNJ

Sophomore Adam Kelly was the runner-up in the hammer throw championship on the final day of the 123rd Penn Relays.
All five of Kelly's countable throws were over 62 meters with his best being 67.14 (220-3). He was just eight inches behind the leader Clarence Gallop (South Carolina). Kelly ranks 13th in the East and 18th in the nation in the event with a 67.57 (221-8) from the Larry Ellis Invitational.
Junior August Kiles was sixth in the pole vault championship at 5.05 (16-6.75). He passed on opening height of 4.90 before clearing 5.05 on his third attempt.
Also finishing in sixth place was senior high jumper Xavier Bledsoe in the championship event. He launched himself over 2.08 (6-9.75). Bledsor was over the opening height of 2.04 on his second attempt and 2.08 on his third.
In the 4x800 Championship of America race, the Tigers finished 12th with a time of 7:26.18. Junior Josh Ingalls started with a 1:51.42 before sophomore Franklin Aririguzoh put up a 1:52.73 in the second leg. Senior William Paulson clocked 1:51.79 before handing the baton to junior Noah Kauppila who closed in 1:50.24.
Princeton sent a few members of its team to compete at The College of New Jersey Lions' Invitational, just a few miles from the Princeton campus.
Sophomore Charlie Volker beat out 80 other competitors to take the title in the 100-meter dash. Volker clocked a 10.84 for first place.
Three Tigers finished in the top 10 of the 400 led by sophomore Cole Bransford who had a PR of 49.04 for fifth place. Senior Jabari Johnson was sixth at 49.24, while multi-eventer Justice Dixon was 10th at 50.30
Junior Kenan Farmer posted the best time for the Tigers in the 800. He recorded a PR of 1:57.97, improving on his 1:58.87 from the 2016 Princeton Outdoor Meet.
Senior Greg Leeper and sophomore Christian Fryer-Davis went 3-4 in the 400 hurdles. They were the top collegiate hurdlers, following two from professional athletic club, Zenith Velocity. Leeper made the lap in 54.45 while Fryer-Davis finished in 55.58.
Princeton went 1-2-3 in the discus. Senior Jared Bell won the event with a 52.89 (173-6.25), as four of his five throws were over 50 meters. Junior Mitchel Charles was second with a throw of 50.57 (165-11) coming on his final attempt, and senior Christopher Cook took third with a throw of 49.77 (163-3.50).
Next weekend the Tigers will aim for their 17th Ivy League Outdoor Heps title as the Ivies congregate at Yale for the championship. Princeton won the indoor Ivy Heps in February and was the runner-up at outdoors last year.
