It was a night of PRs for the Princeton women's track team as the Tigers pushed to run NCAA Regional qualifying times at Army West Point's Twilight Meet.
All three Tigers who took on the 800 ran personal records. Sophomores Jackie Berardo and Anna Jurew both are now in contention for the NCAA Regionals running times that would settle them 35th and 40th. Berardo clocked a 2:07.46 (1:02.346, 1:05.106) improving on the PR of 2:08.13 she set just four days ago at Heps. Jurew has improved on her time in the 800 in every single meet this season and did it again tonight with 2:07.65 (1:02.621, 1:05.030). Senior Zoe Sims also clocked a PR of 2:09.18 (1:02.771, 1:06.404).
In the 1500, four more Tigers posted PRs. Senior Lizzie Bird ran a personal best of 4:20.90 which would put her in contention for the NCAA Regionals in the event as the 30th fastest time. She posted splits of 51.268, 1:12.771, 1:08.775 and 1:08.097 – the fastest final lap. It was the first time she ran the event this season. She also has the sixth fastest time in the East in the steeplechase, an event she has qualified for every single year. Already in the top 48 on the descending order list in the 1500 is senior Katie Hanss.
Freshman Madeline Sumner was third overall at 4:22.90 (51.056, 1:12.778, 1:09.155, 1:09.904). It was nearly three seconds better than her previous best. Sophomore Brighie Leach was sixth 4:27.12 (53.560, 1:12.769, 1:11.547, 1:09.238) and sophomore Madison Offstein eighth at 4:27.21 (52.838, 1:12.720, 1:11.940, 1:09.704) both personal best times.
