EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton is the top-ranked team heading into the Ivy League Tournament, which features three ranked teams. The Tigers are ranked No. 6 in the latest IWLCA poll with a 12-3 overall record and winning their fourth consecutive Ivy League title, and 13th overall. Princeton is fifth in the NCAA RPI.
The Orange & Black average 14.79 goals per game (12th best in the NCAA) and limit teams to 9.84. They dish out 32.9 shots per game, convert on 50 percent of their eight-meter shots and clear at a rate of 89 percent.
Tewaaraton top-25 nominee Olivia Hompe leads the offense with 85 points on 60 goals and 25 assists. She is the NCAA leader in goals per game and is third in points per game. Freshman Tess D'Orsi adds 35 goals and 11 assists. Junior Colby Chanenchuk has the most assists on the team with 32, while scoring 12 times for 44 points. Junior Ellie McNulty, sophomores Kathryn Hallett, Elizabeth George, and Allie Rogers have all reached the 20-point plateau. George and McNulty are the team leaders in draws with 30 and 29, respectively. Senior defenders Amanda Leavell and Madeline Rodriguez have 18 and 17 caused turnovers and have 29 ground balls apiece to sit second in that category, behind Hompe's 30. The 2016 NCAA DI Goalie of the Year and Tewaaraton Top-25 nominee Ellie DeGarmo is the backbone of the Princeton defense. Her 54.3 save percentage is the third-best in the nation, as she averages 11.80 saves per game, to go along with a 10.03 goals against average.
THE SERIES
The last few years of the Princeton-Penn series have been exciting, with Princeton winning five of the 10 meetings since 2011. Overall Princeton holds a slim 23-22-3 edge in the series since the teams first met in 1974. Penn handed Princeton its only league loss of the season, a 17-12 game at Franklin Field on April 19. This will be the fifth time Princeton and Penn will meet in the Ivy League Tournament.
SCOUTING THE QUAKERS
Penn is 13-2 overall and ranked No. 7 in both national polls. The Quakers earned the No. 2 seed in Ivy League Tournament based on its head-to-head win over Princeton in the regular season. Penn is ranked 8th in the NCAA RPI and No. 12 in the SOS.
The Quakers average 12.35 goals per game and have the third-best scoring defense in the nation, allowing just 7.73 goals per game. They average 30.5 shots per game and convert on 38 percent of their free positions and clear at clip of 83 percent.
Emily Rogers-Healion and Alex Condon are the top two scoring threats for the Quakers. Rogers-Healion has 31 goals and a team-high 23 assists for 54 points, while Condon has a team-high 42 goals and 11 assists for 53 points. Condon is the leader in caused turnovers with 21. Caroline Cummings has 37 goals and five assists for 42 points, while Gabby Rosenzweig has 38 points and Natalie Stefan has 30 points. Erin Barry has a team-best 37 draw controls, while Stefan and Cummings have 29 apiece. Britt Brown is 13-2 in goal with the nation's best save percentage at .562 save percentage and has a 7.62 goals against average.
