Men's Tennis Team Finishes First Weekend at Penn, Duke
September 17, 2017 | Men's Tennis
The final day of the first weekend of fall competition came Sunday for the Princeton men's tennis team, which swept three singles matches at Duke, took two of six doubles matches at Penn and took three of five singles contests in Philadelphia.
Freshman Ryan Seggerman went 3 for 3 in matches Sunday, picking up two doubles wins with senior Ben Tso before getting a three-set singles victory.
The Tigers will be back home next Friday through Sunday, Sept. 22-24, for the Ivy-Plus Invitational.
"We finished up on a good note today and I was pleased to see us making some adjustments in the matches," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "It's our first tournament of the year and we showed some competitive rust. However, we had some positive results and it was good to get several challenging matches against strong opponents. We have some areas to work on and we're looking forward to getting back to the courts next weekend at home with the Ivy-Plus."
