Four Tigers Earn Singles Wins on First Day at Ivy Plus
September 22, 2017 | Men's Tennis
Four Tigers earned singles wins Friday as the Ivy Plus tournament got underway at the Lenz Tennis Center.
Rookies Ryan Seggerman, Kabir Sarita and Damian Rodriguez won their first-round singles contests, as did sophomore Davey Roberts among the six Tigers who played. Rodriguez and senior Kial Kaiser teamed up for a first-round doubles win before falling in the quarterfinals.
"I thought we did a pretty good job in singles today," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "We had some solid performances, particularly with Seggerman beating a very experienced player from South Carolina. We need to address some things in doubles because we were not sharp there. We're excited to get back out there tomorrow and continue to improve against some great competition."
Princeton's results from Friday are below, and complete updated draws can be found here. Play will resume Saturday for two rounds of singles with the Tiger and Nassau flights beginning at 8:30 a.m. and playing again at 1 p.m. and the Lenz and Cordish playing at 10:30 a.m. and again at 3 p.m.
