Princeton Sweeps ECAC Hockey Weekly Awards

The Princeton women's hockey team swept the ECAC Hockey weekly awards this week, as senior Kiersten Falck was named the ECAC Player of the Week, freshman Sarah Verbeek the ECAC Rookie of the Week and sophomore Stephanie Neatby was the ECAC Goalie of the Week.
Falck had a three-point weekend as Princeton went undefeated against Boston University with a 4-1 win and 1-1 tie. Falck collected two assists on Friday in a 4-1 win, including one on the game-winning goal in the second period and then on the team's third goal early in the third period. On Saturday she scored her first goal of the season to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Overall for the weekend she was the league leader in points, assists and was a +3 and won 18 face offs.
Verbeek led the league in rookie scoring with two points this weekend. On Friday she assisted on the team's third goal in a 4-1 victory and had the primary assist on her team's goal in a 1-1 draw the next day. Verbeek added one block and finished +1 on the weekend.
Neatby went 1-0-1 this weekend against Boston University, a team she got her career started against last year taking her team on a run. She stopped a league-high 35 shots and allowed two goals for a .946 save percentage and a 0.96 goals against average.
Princeton returns to league play this weekend as it hosts No. 5 Cornell on Friday, Jan. 5 at 6 p.m., and No. 4 Colgate on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 3 p.m.
