Tigers On Top Heading Into Final Day at Georgetown
October 15, 2018 | Men's Golf
Lots of birdies - 12 of them, to be exact - have propelled Evan Quinn to the top of the leaderboard at the Georgetown Intercollegiate after Monday's two rounds.
The Tiger junior played 36 holes Monday at Four Streams and carded birdies on a third of them, making par on all but two of the remaining 22 holes.
All of that added up to a first-round 65 and a second-round 67, with the 65 matching the lowest competitive round in course history at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md. and earning a new collegiate best for Quinn, whose previous low was 67. It's the first score as low as 65 for any Tiger since Chase Woodsum '12 carded a 65 in the second round of St. John's' McLaughlin Invitational on Bethpage Red on Sept. 17, 2010.
Quinn, at -10, leads teammate Max Ting by five strokes atop the individual leaderboard as Princeton has three players in the top 11. That helped Princeton enter Tuesday's final round at -9 as a team, five strokes in front of host Georgetown.
Princeton players will begin teeing off at 9:40 a.m. from the first hole with Max Holm, competing as an individual, teeing off at 8:30 a.m. from the 10th. Tuesday. Complete results are available here.
