ITHACA, N.Y. – Clara Roth and Julianna Tornetta scored twice each as the No. 5 Princeton Tigers took down the Cornell Big Red, 4-0, at Dodson Field on Saturday morning.

It was Tornetta's fifth career multi-goal game and the fourth for Roth. Roth leads the squad with 12 goals this season while Tornetta has eight. Princeton outshot Cornell, 38-1, in the game and secured 17 corners while not allowing one. The win also gave head coach Carla Tagliente her 100th career victory.

The Tigers wasted little time getting their offense going, as Tornetta had her first shot just 22 seconds in. Princeton picked up their first corner a minute later, but Cornell's Maddie Henry kept the game scoreless.

At the 10-minute mark, Roth secured a turnover on a clear attempt and snuck it by the Cornell goalie.

Tornetta registered her first tally several moments later on a penalty stroke. The Tigers thought they had another goal as the sophomore blasted a shot on the cage, but Kirsten Pienaar stopped the ball from crossing the line.

Princeton continued to pepper Henry, finishing with 25 shots in the first half, forcing her to make 11 stops.

Roth quickly opened up the second half with a scoring chance, but Henry made her 12th save of the contest. Cornell's first shot of the matchup came in the 38th minute.

The Tigers made Henry make four consecutive over 90 seconds in the 44th minute, but couldn't add on. Julianna snagged her second goal on a direct shot off a corner as the clock ticked near five minutes to go.

Roth finished off the scoring with a rebound attempt off a shot that hit the post with under three minutes left.

Princeton improves to 12-4 overall and 5-1 in the Ivy League while Cornell dropped to 3-12 and 0-6 in the conference. The Tigers wrap up the regular season at Bedford Field next Saturday (Nov. 3) against Penn (12 p.m.).
