Eye on the Tigers
The Tigers are receiving votes in this week's national poll with a 9-4-2 overall record. Princeton is in first place in the Ivy League standings and is riding a seven-game unbeaten streak. That includes a 2-0 shutout of No. 22 Cornell on the road last weekend. Senior Sean McSherry is this week's Ivy League Player of the Week after scoring a goal and assisting on the second in the win over the Big Red. He has 12 points total on four goals and four assists. Sophomore Kevin O'Toole has four goals and three assists - averaging 1.00 points per game. Sophomore Gaby Paniagua and senior Jeremy Colvin have also scored four times with all four of Colvin's goals being game winners. The Tigers are always looking to score as they check in fourth in the NCAA in shots on goal per game - averaging 7.52 spg. Junior Jacob Schachner boasts a 0.67 goals against average and a .795 save percentage. He and the Tigers are ranked ninth in the NCAA in goals against average and 10th in shutout percentage.
The Scenarios
* A Princeton win over Penn and a Columbia loss to Harvard = Princeton is outright champion and wins automatic bid
* A Princeton win over Penn and a Columbia tie with Harvard = Princeton clinches share of title but clinches automatic bid
* Any other outcomes this weekend and the championship and automatic bid won't be decided til next week
* Princeton, Columbia, Cornell or Dartmouth could still win the outright title
Scouting the Quakers
Penn is 4-4-6 on the season and 1-3-1 in the Ivy League to sit in sixth place in the standings. The Quakers are unbeaten in the last four, 2-0-2 which includes wins over Delaware and Brown. The Quakers like to play extra soccer, with 10 of the team's 14 games going into overtime. Jake Kohlbrenner and Alex Touche are the team's goal scorers, with each tallying three goals this season. Kohlbrenner adds one assist to take the title of leading scorer with seven points. Brandon Bartel has a team-high four helpers. Scott Forbes has played every minute in goal and has a 0.83 GAA and an .835 save percentage with 13 goals allowed on 79 shots.
The Series
Penn has a two-game advantage on Princeton in the all-time series, at 47-45-10, dating back to 1914. The Tigers are unbeaten in the last four games of the series, including a 2-1 overtime win last year in Philadelphia that came on a goal from defender Bobby Hickson in the 94th minute.
