No. 5 Princeton Uses Big Second Half To Push Away from Columbia, 4-0

Clara Roth posted her sixth career multi-goal game and her second of the season. She also helped on another goal, finishing with five points. The Tigers dominated throughout the Ivy matchup, outshooting the Lions, 33-6, and picking up a 19-2 advantage in corners. Columbia was held without a shot for the first 26 minutes of the second half.

Roth secured the Tigers' first scoring threat 12 minutes in as Columbia's goalie Katie Dempsey denied her attempt. In the 20th minute, Princeton earned back-to-back corners with one shot that was saved and another that was knocked off the goal line by Maaike Blindenbach.

Columbia was awarded a corner with six minutes to go, but the shot was blocked away. Two minutes later, Roth got on the scoreboard as she wacked a high rebound shot from Julianna Tornetta through.
Dempsey kept the Lions within one as she sprawled out and knocked away an attempt from Julianna Tornetta on a corner early in the second half. Princeton executed on a corner as MaryKate Neff, on the left wing, slid the ball to Elise Wong, who tapped it in for her second tally of the year.

Grace Brightbill made her collegiate debut, playing the final 3:54 for Grace Baylis. Princeton (9-3 overall, 3-0 Ivy) improves to 21-1 all-time against Columbia (6-4, 2-1 Ivy) including a current streak of four straight victories.
