Princeton Makes Trip To Penn State For Sunday Contest On The Big Ten Network

PRINCETON, N.J. –  The Princeton Tigers make their national television debut for the 2018-19 season vs. the Penn State Nittany Lions on the Big Ten Network on Sunday (2 p.m.).

Femi Funeus – Princeton held Funeus to 2-of-10 from the floor on Wednesday as the freshman finished with four points. She came into the game shooting 69.9 percent and was averaging over 13 points per game.

Shadeen Samuels – Samuels' excellent start for Seton Hall this season continued as she collected a team-best 20 points and 10 rebounds against the Tigers. Trailing by seven with 2:15 to go, the senior scored five of the Pirates next seven points as they tied the contest and eventually would go on to win.

Seton Hall's Offense – The Pirates were held to their lowest point total (70) and shooting percentage (.439) of the season against Princeton. A turning point of the contest came in the third quarter as Seton Hall went up 18. The Tigers held the Pirates to just five baskets in the frame, outscoring them, 21-10, closing their deficit to three.

Young Tigers – Sophomore Carlie Littlefield stood out against Seton Hall, posting a career-best 22 points, along with five rebounds, four assists and three steals. She also made all nine of her free throws. She's second on the squad in scoring after three games (15.3).

Teniya Page – Page is the leading scorer for the Lions (16.0). She's knocking down 38.5 percent of her shots from beyond the arc. The senior is a three-time All-Big Ten player and has over 1,600 points.

Three-Point Shooting – It's been a struggle for Penn State as its shooting just 30.0 percent from deep. For Princeton opponents, teams are at 36.5 percent from the three-point line in the early going.

Gabrielle Rush – The senior is off to the best three-game scoring stretch of her career (16.0). She set a new career high with 25 points in the Tigers' season-opening victory over Rider and followed that with 18 points in the squad's home-opener vs. Seton Hall on Wednesday. The senior was also one rebound shy of a double-double against the Pirates, matching her personal-best. Among players that have played at least two games, she is the team-leader in rebounding (7.0).
