November 27, 2018 | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON, N.J. – For the third straight season, the Princeton Tigers take on the Villanova Wildcats in non-conference action on Wednesday at Finneran Pavilion (Nov. 28).
Before we take a peek at Villanova … Let's take one last look at the Cancun Challenge …

No. 15 Syracuse – Recap | Box Score
Kansas State – Recap | Box Score
Ashton Millender – Millender recorded 10 points, six rebounds and four assists as No. 16 DePaul used a second half push to earn the victory. Her six boards were the most she snagged all season and helped the Blue Demons to a 48-30 advantage.
Three-Point Shooting – Gabrielle Rush took advantage of Syracuse's struggles defending the three-point line, knocking down five in 10 attempts. That matched a personal high, but the Tigers couldn't keep pace with Syracuse, hitting just three treys in the second half as the Orange pulled away.
Free-Throws – Princeton struggled from the charity stripe in the first two games of the Cancun Challenge, combining to go 10-of-19 (52.6 percent), but rebounded by shooting 17-of-20 (85.0 percent) against Kansas State. For the season, the Tigers are 25th in Division I in free-throw percentage (77.8).
Kansas State's Defense – After allowing 42 points in the first half, the Wildcats gave up just 19 in the second half en route to a comeback win. Kansas State held Princeton to 5-of-29 (17.2 percent) from the floor in the final 20 minutes of action.
Now here's some information for the Villanova game …
Kelly Jekot – The junior guard has been a steady offensive presence for Villanova, leading the team at 18.4 points per game. She has registered at least 17 points in each of the past four games with two 20-point outings. In last year's meeting against Princeton, Jekot made just two baskets in 35 minutes.
Lots of Threes – Both these teams will attempt a lot of three-pointers. The Wildcats are 15th nationally in threes made per game (9.8) and 32nd in three-pointers attempted (157). Jekot is Villanova's top long-range specialist (51.5 percent). Head coach Courtney Banghart's group has attempted the fifth most threes among all NCAA teams (192) and are 24th in made treys (57).
Stop Fouling – Villanova is near the top in the country in personal fouls per game (14.8, 37th). Opponents are shooting 14.6 free throws against the Wildcats. With Princeton being so effective at the free-throw line (77.8 percent), this could be a key factor in a game that has come down to the wire in each of the past two seasons.
