Women's Track & Field Opens Season at Ocean Breeze

The Princeton women's track and field squad kick starts the season on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Fasttrack Season Opener at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.

Returning Talent
Princeton has 14 returners that already hold top-10 school records in individual events. Leading things off is junior Ashley Willingham who is the school record holder in the 300 at 39.91. Other Tigers with top-10 times/marks include: Katie DiFrancesco in the 60, 200 and 300, Heide Baron in the 300, Jackie Berardo in the 500, Carly Bonnet in the 500, Anna Jurew in the 1k, Alie Fordyce in the 1k, Madeleine Sumner in the 1k, Frances Lodge in the pentathlon, Ellie Randolph in thelong jump, Kerri Davidson in the triple, Kara Steele in the triple, Obiageri Amerchi in the shot put, Julia Harisay in the shot put, Ellen Scott-Young in the weight,
Here Last Year
Princeton collected five first-place finishes at this meet last year. The day began with a dominating performance in the mile as the Tigers went 1-2-4 led by Anna Jurew with a 5:02.90. She then went on to win the 400 with a 58.62 finish. Madeleine Sumner ran 2:15.43 to win the 800, while Jackie Berardo claimed first in the 1000. Kennedy O'Dell also won the shot put.

The Tigers host the annual New Year Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 8 at Jadwin Gym. It will be the final meet of the 2018 season. The team will return to the track in 2019 on Sunday, January 6 in a dual meet with Navy at Jadwin Gym.
