Field Athletes Have a Big Day at New Year's Invite

Princeton's field athletes had tremendous performances as the Tigers had the top collegian in all four field events they competed in at the New Year's Invitational at Jadwin Gym.
Sophomore Jeffrey Hollis won the high jump with a PR of 2.15 (7-0.5), the fifth best mark at Princeton all time. He started at 1.90 and then cleared six more heights before capping at 2.15.
In the shot put, sophomore Kelton Chastuluk had a PR. He was the top collegian with a throw of 17.36 (56-11.5) coming on his third attempt. Chastulik's previous best was a 16.66 from last season. Today he also had throws of 17.29, 17.19, 16.86, 16.79 and 16.42. Rookie Connor Scaglione hit 14.66 (48-1.25) for sixth place and also had throws of 14.06, 13.94, 13.57 and 13.21.
Freshman Will Drury was the top collegiate in the pole vault, clearing 4.65 (15-3) on his first attempt. In third place was sophomore Noah Hurley reaching 4.50 (14-9.).
Senior Stefan Amokwandoh won the triple jump on his final attempt with a 14.70 (48-2.75). Prior to that he had marks of 14.45, 14.35, 14.34, 14.25 and 13.99. Freshman Dyo Abeeb took third place with a 14.41 (47-3.5) on his third attempt. Like Amokwandoh, all but one of his attempts was over 14 meters.
After an impressive showing last week, the sprints and hurdles were at it again.
Freshman Taraje Whitfield ran the best time of the season with an 8.20 - which is the 10th best time all-time at Princeton. Senior Sebastian Silveria was second with his fastest time of the early season at 8.24.

Freshman Simanga Ndlovu, who ran a blistering 6.83 in the 60 last weekend took another victory this afternoon with a 6.87. Junior Justice Dixon was third with a 6.93.
In the 300, freshman Greg Sholars put up a winning time of 35.11 while classmate Michael Philllippy was third at 35.52.
Four Tigers ran a 600 with sophomore Sam Ellis clocking the best time at 1:21.20, a PR, and senior Franklin Aririguzoh not far behind at 1:21.70.
Princeton will be back in action on January 6 when it hosts Navy in a dual meet at Jadwin Gym.
