Thibodeau's first jump was his best at 7.31 (23-11.75), which all of his jumps over seven meters. Tsabkevich reached 7.15 (23-5.50) on his final jump to improve upon his 6.80 to leap over three other jumpers, including two from Cornell.
Senior Mitchel Charles is the shot put champion after being the runner-up the last two years. Freshman Kelton Chastulik took third as the Tigers earned 16 total points in the event. Charles and Cornell's Zach Hawley both hit 16.67 on their second attempts but Charles took over the lead with a 16.82 (55-2.25) on his fifth attempt. Chastulik's best throw was 16.66 (54-8) on his final throw, though he had two other throws 16.63 and a 16.52 that would have garnered him third place.
Senior Carrington Akosa will double in the 60 and the 200, as he ran the fastest qualifying times in both events with a 6.79 and a 21.60. Akosa is the reigning champion in the 60 and won his last two Ivy Heps indoor 200s. He was pulled out of the 200 final last year with an injury and has something to prove tomorrow.
