Before we move on to Harvard, Dartmouth, let's check out the Yale, Brown weekend one last time …
Â
Bella Alarie – The sophomore just missed a triple double at Yale with eight points, nine rebounds and eight blocks. Her eight blocks are tied for second most in a game in program history. She followed that with 14 rebounds at Brown, adding three more blocks.
Â
Gabrielle Rush – The junior knocked down four treys at Yale, finishing with 16 points. She continued with 10 points at Brown, while contributing four rebounds and four steals. She has scored at least 10 points in her last five games.
Â
Princeton's Defense – The Tigers struggled defending the three-point line at Yale in the first half as the Bulldogs made 8-of-12 (66.7 percent). Yale finished with 11 treys in the game. Against Brown, Princeton did not allow a three-pointer in the second half. The Tigers created 17 turnovers against the Bears and outscored them in three of four quarters.
Â
Brown's Offense – The Bears were held under 40 percent shooting against Princeton. Justine Gaziano registered just eight points while Shayna Mehta snagged 17 points, but on 18 shots. Those two are the second and third highest scoring players in the Ivy League.
Â
Now on to Harvard, Dartmouth …
Â
Katie Benzan – The sophomore leads the Crimson in scoring at 13.7 points. She's shooting 46.8 percent from deep and was selected as the Ivy League Player of the Week on Monday. In three games last year against Princeton, Benzan averaged 12.6 points on just 29.7 percent shooting.
Â
Harvard's Offense – The Crimson has scored 80 or more points in each of their last four games. It's the first time Harvard has done that since January of 1998. Harvard is in the top 100 nationally in scoring offense (80th) at 70.5 points per game.
Â
Harvard's Three-Point Shooting – Harvard is 37th nationally in three-pointers made (8.4) and 78th in three-point field goal percentage (34.5). The Crimson have four players that average over a trey per game in Benzan, Madeline Raster, Taylor Rooks and Sydney Skinner.
Â
Dartmouth Three-Point Shooting – The Big Green are also among the best in Division I in three-point shooting at 36.0 percent (49th). Dartmouth averages almost eight baskets from beyond the arc (7.9) which is 53rd in the country. The team has three players that make at least one basket from beyond the arc per contest in Kate Letkewicz, Cy Lippold and Andi Norman. Lippold is the team's best shooter from distance at 44.4 percent.
Turnovers, Turnovers, Turnovers – Dartmouth has the second worst turnover margin in the Ivy League (-2.21) while Princeton is third in the conference in steals per game (8.6). The Big Green turn the ball over almost 18 times per game (17.9). In the Tigers' victory last season over the Big Green, Dartmouth had 19 turnovers, leading to 15 Princeton points.
