Samara & Vigilante Earn Regional Coach of the Year Honors

Princeton men's track & field coaches swept the Mid-Atlantic Regional Coaches of the Year honors with William M. Weaver Jr. '34 Head Coach of Men's Track & Field Fred Samara being named Coach of the Year and Jason Vigilante earning Assistant Coach of the Year honors.

The Princeton men's track & field team won its fourth consecutive Ivy Heps title and 21st overall this past weekend. The Tigers had the largest margin of victory ever in an indoor Ivy Heps, winning by 68 points. The team had eight individual champions and a relay championship. Hall of Fame inductee Samara was unanimously selected as the Ivy League Coach of the Year.

Vigilante was named the Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in November following cross country season in which the Tigers on the Ivy Heps, NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional before advancing to the NCAA Championships.

Princeton's weight thrower Adam Kelly will compete at the NCAA Championships next weekend. The outdoor season is slated to begin on March 23 at the UNF Spring Break Open in Jacksonville, Fla.
