Tigers to Host Brown Wednesday in Rescheduled Game
March 26, 2018 | Softball
The home opener for the Princeton softball team will now come Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Class of 1895 Field when the Tigers host a rescheduled game against Brown.
Princeton and Brown were originally scheduled to play this past Saturday and Sunday at '95 Field to open the Ivy League season, but last week's snowstorm forced the games to be moved to Brown's turf field in Providence. Sunday's single game was postponed, and it'll now be played Wednesday at its originally scheduled location of '95 Field.
The Tigers will then head to Harvard for a Saturday-Sunday series as the Ivy season continues.
Princeton and Brown split the first two games on the weekend, with the Bears taking Saturday's opener 5-0 behind a four-run first inning before Princeton won the nightcap 7-1 on the strength of a six-run second inning and a solid outing from senior Ashley LaGuardia.
Cat Seitz led the Bears by going 3 for 5 with a double between the two games while Anya Schmitz went 2 for 5 with a pair of walks, and Emily Waters had the shutout in the circle. Mikayla Blaska went 3 for 5 with a walk in Saturday's twinbill for the Tigers.
