Eye on the Tigers
No. 19 Princeton is coming off of huge battle with No. 2 Maryland, falling in the final minute 11-10. The Tigers held the lead throughout most of the game, giving the Terrapins their largest deficit of the season, four, at two points during the game. Princeton is 6-5 overall with five of its 11 opponents nationally ranked and is 2-1 in the Ivy League. Freshman Kyla Sears paces the offense with 35 goals and 13 assists for 48 points. Sophomore Tess D'Orsi adds 18 goals and eight assist and junior Kathryn Hallett has 21 tallies and two helpers. Junior Elizabeth George also has 23 points with 18 goals and five assists. Freshman Marge Donovan and senior Ellie McNulty have combined for 60 percent of the team's draw controls, with 44 and 41, respectively. Junior defender Alex Argo is the team leader in caused turnovers with 16 and ground balls with 24. Freshman Sam Fish is 3-3 in goal and has a .519 save percentage and an 11.08 GAA. Since becoming the starter, three games ago, her numbers are even better with a .556 save percentage and a 10.67 GAA.
The Series
Princeton has a 29-14-1 advantage in the all-time series with Yale, since the teams first met in 1975. The Tigers have won the last 10 meetings, with Yale's last win in 2007. The Bulldogs however have not won at Princeton since 1988.
Scouting the Bulldogs
Yale is 7-5 on the season and 2-2 in the Ivy League, most recently dropping a 12-10 game to Columbia. They have wins over Harvard and Brown, with the other loss to Cornell. Senior Emily Granger leads the attacked with 30 points on 19 goals and 11 assists and sophomore Barrett Carlson has a team-high 20 goals and six assists for 26 points. Junior Izzy Nixon pops in 23 points, and has the most draws on the team with 112 - having 63 percent of her team's total draws. Sophomore Margaret Stover heads up the defense with 14 caused turnovers and 21 ground balls. Senior Sydney Marks has played every minute in net and has a .428 save percentage and an 11.03 GAA.
