Lehigh Tops Tigers in Non-League Finale

Lehigh scored all five of its runs over the first three innings and held the Princeton softball team to three hits and a walk in a 5-0 win Wednesday afternoon in Bethlehem, Pa.
Two singles and four walks in the bottom of the first got Lehigh out to a 3-0 lead, and the Mountain Hawks used a leadoff walk to score another run in the fourth. Three walks and a groundout led to Lehigh's last run in the third.
A walk and a hit batter were all the Tigers had over the first four innings until Kylee Pierce led off the fifth with a base hit to break up Emily Sorem's no-hit bid. Allison Harvey and Joey Smith had singles in the sixth, but Sorem stranded six Tigers on base.
Caroline Taber and Allie Reynolds split the pitching duties for Princeton, with Taber throwing the first four innings.Â
The Tigers will return to Ivy League play Saturday for two and Sunday for one at Columbia, starting at 12:30 p.m. both days.Â
