Half the league has two weekends to go and half has three weekends left, with Princeton in the latter group. Harvard (11-4) and Dartmouth (9-3) hold the two ILCS spots at present, with Columbia (9-6) a game and a half out of the second spot and Cornell (6-6) and Princeton (6-6) each three games out.
Columbia has the league's highest batting average on the season at .286 with Madison Gott and Taylor Troutt co-leading the Ivy at 39 hits apiece. Gott is also the league's RBI leader with 26, and Gott and Troutt are first and second in doubles at 12 and 11. Amanda Nishihira has a league-high seven home runs with Maria Pagane and Madison Gott part of a group right behind at six. The Lions rank 28th nationally in home runs per game at 1.03 and Gott ranks 10th in triples per game at 0.15 and 11th in doubles per game at 0.39.
The Lions have a 3.71 ERA as a team with Madison Canby (9-8, 3.72) throwing 116 2/3 of the team's 234 innings and Erin Gallo (6-4, 3.45) and Maura Lynch (2-4, 3.41) accounting for all but 3 1/3 of the rest.Â
Princeton bats .260 as a team with Megan Donahey (.324) totaling a team-best 34 hits and Mackenzie Meyer (.323) hitting five of the team's eight home runs. Allie Reynolds (5-11, 4.99) and Ashley LaGuardia (3-7, 7.44) have accounted for all of Princeton's starts in Ivy League play.Â
Princeton took three of four a year ago at '95 Field under the previous divisional format and also took three of four in 2016 in the team's last visit to Columbia. None of Princeton's pitchers from that series, however, are among those who have logged innings this year. The Tigers were strong at the plate against the Lions last year, hitting .378 in the four-game series with each of the team's top three hitters from that weekend back. Allison Harvey went 8 for 12 with two doubles, a home run and an RBI, while Kaitlyn Waslawski went 4 for 7 with a double and two runs driven in, and Kylee Pierce went 5 for 9, driving in a run.
Following the weekend, Princeton will return home after being on the road for seven straight games, hosting Penn April 27-28.
