Brown Avoids Series Sweep Against Princeton

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Princeton Tigers (7-13, 4-2 Ivy) could not earn a sweep over the Brown Bears (7-15, 3-6 Ivy) as the Bears earned a 12-0 decision at Murray Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Taylor Beckett and Ramzi Haddad had doubles in the game as the Tigers had just five hits. Keith Gabrielson threw a scoreless relief stanza. The Princeton pitching staff struck out seven hitters in the loss.
Brown got the scoring underway in the second frame with three runs, highlighted by a RBI double from Willy Hozma. An unearned run put the Bears in front, 4-0, in the fourth inning. The home squad broke the game open with a six-spot in the sixth as Cameron Deere hit a grand slam and Hunter Carey hit a two-run home run. Brown added individual runs in the seventh and eighth innings to complete the scoring.
The Tigers get back in action on Wednesday at Clarke Field as the Seton Hall Pirates make the trip to Princeton. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
