Tigers Fourth, Walton Fifth at Harvard Invite
April 08, 2018 | Women's Golf
Though the Princeton women's golf team posted the best score of its three rounds at the Harvard Invitational in Sunday's third round, tournament host Harvard was among the teams to break 300 Sunday, and the Crimson took the event title by three strokes over Delaware at The Oaks Club's Heron Course in Osprey, Fla.
Maya Walton led Princeton at 7, tying for fifth overall. Rollins' Seher Atwal won the event at 2 by a stroke over Delaware's Ariane Klotz. Senior Tenley Shield had the low round for any Tiger, carding a 71 Sunday to match her personal best and turn in the first under-par round of her Princeton career. Only Harvard's Michelle Xie, who shot a 3-under 69 Sunday, and Atwal and Klotz, who each shot 70 in the final round, posted rounds lower than a 71.
The tournament is the last one for the Tigers before the Ivy League Championships, set for April 20-22 at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson, N.J., where the Tigers will aim to defend their title.
