Despite the best efforts of Mother Nature to throw freshman Obiageri Amaechi off her game the unpredictable weather would not be a threat to the Princeton discus sensation as she punched her ticket to Eugene advancing to the NCAA Championships.
Originally slated for a 4:30 p.m. start, the women's discus was then moved up to 1:15 p.m., a day ago because impending lightning and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The final will take place on June 9.
