United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll
Coming off their run to the 2017 NCAA quarterfinals, the Princeton women's soccer team has debuted at No. 13 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll.
The Tigers ended last season ranked No. 7 after a run that saw Princeton beat Monmouth, advance past North Carolina State on penalties, and beat No. 2 and 21-time NCAA champion North Carolina in the round of 16 to advance to a quarterfinal matchup at eventual national runner-up UCLA.Â
Princeton will face two fellow top-25 teams from this poll, both at home No. 20 North Carolina State on Sept. 2 and No. 22 Georgetown on Sept. 13.Â
The Tigers return 37 of their 44 goals from last season, led by rising junior Abby Givens (12) and rising senior Mimi Asom (10), as well as rising junior Natalie Grossi between the posts after a season in which the Tigers limited opponents to just 11 goals in 20 games.
