The Princeton women's volleyball team, which faced a loaded field last week at the Towson Invitational, will make a quick trip to North Jersey Tuesday night to face the Seton Hall Pirates as the Tigers draw closer to the start of Ivy League play.
Princeton (4-3) faced arguably its toughest tournament field in years last week, a stretch that included matches against both Missouri (a 2017 Sweet 16 team) and Ohio State (a 2016 Sweet 16 team). The Tigers grabbed a 3-2 comeback win over host Towson to assure them a winning record heading into their final week of pre-Ivy League play.
One player who had a standout performance last week was sophomore middle Clare Lenihan, who recorded double-digit kills against both Long Beach State and Towson, and followed with a nine-kill effort against Ohio State. She hit at least .400 in all three matches, and she peaked with a .500 performance against the Buckeyes.
Seton Hall enters the match with a 4-5 record, which includes a 1-2 performance at the Thunderdome Classic in Santa Barbara last weekend.
These teams met in an early-season classic last year, with Princeton posting a 15-12 victory in the fifth set of a 3-2 win. Both Natasha Skov and Maggie O'Connell recorded 21 kills apiece for the Tigers, while Garden State native Nnenna Ibe posted seven kills and six blocks in the win.
